Launched in 2025 by Elimu Foundation in partnership with Noble Trust College, the Ndoto Scholarship Fund seeks to sponsor over 200 deserving students in Tanzania each year. To achieve this goal, Elimu Foundation intends to collaborate with other learning institutions beyond Noble Trust College and widen its network of stakeholders and funding opportunities. This collective approach ensures more students access 100% fee-covered education and break the cycle of poverty through technical and vocational training
Why “Ndoto”?
“Ndoto” means Dream in Swahili. Every child carries a dream—of learning, leading, and lifting their community. Yet too many are held back by poverty. Through the Ndoto Scholarship Fund, we invite funders, institutions, and partners to turn these dreams into reality. Together, we can create a future where no potential is wasted, and every student has the chance to rise
Application & Eligibility
Students begin by applying online through the Ndoto Scholarship Form. To qualify, each applicant must first meet the minimum academic requirements for the program they are applying to, ensuring that only deserving and committed candidates are considered
Recommendation of Need
Applicants are also required to secure a letter of recommendation from a trusted authority. This may come from a Village Executive Officer (VEO), a Ward Executive Officer (WEO), or from a recognized religious leader such as a pastor, imam, or community faith representative. This recommendation serves as confirmation of the applicant’s genuine financial need and strengthens the integrity of the selection process.
Shortlisting & Home Verification
- Elimu Foundation team reviews applications against academic and need criteria.
- Shortlisted students receive home verification visits.
The team conducts interviews with guardians, checks living conditions, and documents findings.
Review & Approval
All verification reports are then presented to the Scholarship Board Committee, which brings together representatives from Elimu Foundation, Noble Trust College, and other partner stakeholders. The committee carefully reviews each case and makes the final decision, ensuring the entire process remains fair, transparent, and accountable
Award & Admission
Successful students are issued a Scholarship Award Letter from Elimu Foundation, along with an Admission Letter from Noble Trust College (or from a partnering institution as the program expands). Together, these documents formally confirm that the student has been awarded a scholarship covering 100% of tuition fees.
Mentorship, Leadership & Safeguarding
Beyond financial support, every scholar becomes part of Elimu Foundation’s mentorship and leadership programs, which are designed to build confidence, resilience, and community impact. Particular emphasis is placed on gender equality, ensuring that girls have safe and equitable access to education, and on safeguarding, with strong measures in place to protect students against exploitation, abuse, and harassment. Through these structures and clear reporting channels, scholars are not only educated but also empowered, protected, and prepared to lead positive change within their communities.
Our Safeguarding Commitment
At Elimu Foundation, the safety and dignity of every scholar is our highest priority. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment. Clear reporting channels are in place to ensure accountability.
To confidentially report any safeguarding concern, please contact: nilinde@elimufoundation-tz.org
